Reboot

A reboot and battery charge for my class: changing the final four weeks, going to rule with an iron fist, make them jump through specific hoops, and see if I can get some "great" screenwriting (instead of competent and occasionally "good") out of them. I give them the news today. How will they take it?

Commission, Oregon Public Broadcasting, to write teleplay on Sen. Wayne Morse. Never produced. Becomes one-man play, American Gadfly, produced in 2004, then tours.

Publish seminal essay What Is Hypertext? on Internet. Translated into several languages, establishes online reputation.

Electronic Playwright-in-residence, Prisma, Santiago, Chile, resulting in The Last Song of Violeta Parra, a one-act hyperdrama.

Publish second influential essay on Internet, The New Hyperdrama, later anthologized in Theatre in Cyberspace (1999).
