I can remember a sunny day in July, 1959, some 57 years ago, when I was sitting on the deck of my apt in Berkeley, only weeks before joining the Army, sipping a cold beer and listening to Gerry Mulligan, the same version of the same song I am enjoying right now. Thank the gods that a few things march on indefinitely.
