Inside Llewyn Davis

Another gem from the Coen brothers, set against the pre-Dylan Greenwich Village folk scene, the story of a talented, non-commercial folk artist, trying to make it while depending on the kindness of friends. Darkly comic, art v. commerce, performing self v. mundane self, Davis to me a very likeable character, although a fuckup, though I know two women who find the movie depressing. But it's so true! I find true art very energizing, and this is a great film. Best I've seen in years! No bullshit here.
