News style

I listen to the BBC news on the radio a lot. It retains a style of delivery I grew up on with American voices like Cronkite and Brinkley. But somewhere along the way, American news changed its delivery style from formal neutrality to informal chuminess. I hate its phoniness. Someone like Diane Sawyer makes me want to puke. So false and manipulative. Style striving for intimacy. It's bullshit.
