I'm a morning person. I wake up instantly and am never more content than during the first few hours of the day. I have my iced coffee, I read the SF paper, maybe I browse through a news app, and I am ready to face the day. By evening I'll be a vegetable, but now I'm good and if anything significant gets done, it will happen before noon.
The big deal yesterday was settling the fate of the Oregon Literary Review archive. The fact that the PSU Eng Dept will recode each of its 400+ pages to fit their new database system reveals how important it is to them. This pleases me immensely. I consider this - not my teaching - my legacy at the university. And in the future I feel certain someone, probably an ambitious grad student or young faculty member, will revive it.
Today I will make a formal syllabus for ukulele studies. Been out of sync, need a structure.
This is a great morning!
