Of the many tributes today, Rachel Maddow did a great job of reminding us of, and documenting, the historical context of his struggle: that Thatcher called him a terrorist and Reagan probably thought the same; that in the UN it was Reagan's U.S. and Thatcher's Britain that vetoed sanctions against South Africa; that for too long a time this country was on the wrong side of history (and may be still). Let's remember what actually happened and who was on what side. This remarkable man proved his critics wrong. Extraordinary man!
