Several nice emails from colleagues about my teaching contribution to the Eng Dept and university over the years. The positive consequences of being a teacher are easier to track than same of being a writer. Of course, I think my contribution as a writer is greater than I get credit for (except among a small universe of fans). I always think of myself as a writer first, a teacher second. But I get more ego rubs as a teacher.
